luxury resort hotel
Project Description: This is a large 3-phased 2,000 guestroom highrise luxury hotel for a large resort/casino destination in southeastern USA. The first and third phase hotel are twin 17-story towers that flank the ends of the larger central phase 2 23-story tower. The exterior design follows a concept relating to its forested surroundings. Earth/Forest/Sky. Earth = Base of the tower; Forest = main body of tower; Sky=upper portion of tower. The lower 3-floors of the tower is expressed with more opaque materials like stone. The main body of the tower is primarily a glass curtainwall with some vertical expression to abstractly represent the forest. The upper portion of the tower has a lot of glass that reflects the sky, and has a top that seems to float from the main body.
